Feroz was born on September 25, 1939 in Bangalore, India. He was active in the movie industry for nearly 50 years, dating back to 1960 where his first acting role came in the movie, ‘Didi.’ Feroz appeared in numerous films, with his first big hit being, ‘Oonche Log’ in 1965. He also starred in, produced and directed ‘Dharmatma,’ the first Indian film to be shot in Afghanistan, and turned out to be his first major hit as a producer, actor and director. His most recent film, ‘Welcome’ was a massive hit and turned out to be his last appearance on film.
Feroz Khan was also known for being a passionate animal lover. He always made it a need to have a performing animal in his films in some way, shape, or form. He wanted to spend his last days in his farmhouse so he can be with his dogs, according to his brother Sanjay Khan.
Feroz Khan is survived by his two children, Laila and actor Fardeen Khan. It’s being reported that Feroz’s funeral will take place later today.
Our thoughts go out to Feroz Khan’s loved ones and fans at this difficult time. He was a true Indian film icon and a pioneer in terms of opening doors creatively for future Indian producers and directors. He has left behind enough movies to last a lifetime, so he will never be forgotten.
Feel free to post your thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Feroz Khan’s family on this tragic loss
